Obama's Stimulus
« on: December 09, 2008, 01:20:09 AM »
Every time Obama speaks about his stimulus plan, the market rallies. His stimulus will create jobs, at least that's what he is aiming for. Gotta hand it to him, he is a man of action. I like the guy. At least he is trying. He is a very pragmatic man.

It is definitely having a positive effect on the markets which is a good sign.

Stockmarkets in Europe and Asia rallied strongly today after Barack Obama pledged to spend hundreds of billions of dollars in a bid to drag America away from another great depression.

In London the FTSE 100 leapt by more than 6% and closed 250 points higher at 4300. This followed strong trading in Japan, where the Nikkei index gained 5%. Shares also rose on Wall Street, where the Dow Jones industrial average was up more than 3% by London market close

Obama has explained that he wants to jump-start the US economy to create jobs straight away, but also deliver long-term sustainable growth.

Lets hope his jump-start will gain more and more peoples confidence in the markets - it has so far.
