Stock Market News

Rallies extended as positive stock market news was released, sending shares soaring. (read more at Millennium-Traders.Com)

Economic data released today:

Institute for Supply (ISM) Manufacturing Index:
U.S. ISM July Manufacturing PMI 48.9 versus June 44.8; U.S. ISM July Manufacturing PMI expected 46.5; U.S. ISM July Prices Index 55.0 versus June 50.0; U.S. ISM July Employment Index 45.6 versus June 40.7; U.S. ISM July New Orders Index 55.3 versus June 49.2; U.S. ISM July Production Index 57.9 versus June 52.5; U.S. ISM July Inventories Index 33.5 versus June 30.8.

Construction Spending:
U.S. Construction Spending rose 0.3% in June compared to consensus of a decrease by 0.5%; Residential Spending rises second time in three months in June; Public Construction Spending up fifth month in a row in June; May Construction Spending revised to -0.8% from -0.9%.

Obama Administration:
About 80,500 'clunkers' sales counted through Saturday.
