Stock Market Trend

Economic data released today:

Initial Jobless Claims:
U.S. April 3 Week Continuing Claims rose 73K to 4, 639,00; U.S. April 3 Week Jobless Claims Unrevised at 460K; U.S. Jobless Claims rose 24K to 484K in Week of April 10; Compared to Survey of a decrease by 15K; Government Cites Administrative Factors and not Economy for Rise.

NY Empire State Manufacturing Index:
New York Federal April Employment 20.25 versus 12.35 in March; New York Federal April New Orders 29.49 versus 25.43 in March; New York Fed's April Mfg Index 31.86 versus 22.86 in March.

TIC Net Long-Term Transactions:
Net Foreign Long Term Securities Purchases $34.1B in February; Net LT Securities Purchases $47.1B in February; Net Foreign Capital Inflow $9.0B in February; Foreigners Net Buyers $48.1B U.S. Treasury Notes, Bonds in February; Foreigners Net Buyers $2.4B of U.S. Agency Debt in February; Foreigners Net Sellers $12.0B of U.S. Corp Bonds in February; Foreigners Net Buyers $12.9B of U.S. Equities in February; China Sells $11.5B of U.S. Treasuries in February, Remains Top Holder.

Capacity Utilization Rate:
U.S. February Capacity use Revised to 73.0% from 72.7%; U.S. March Capacity Utilization rose 0.2-Point at 73.2%; Compared to Consensus 73.3%.

Industrial Production (MoM):
U.S. March Industrial Production rose 0.1%; Compared to Consensus of an increase 0.8%; U.S. February Industrial Production Revised to rise 0.3% from an increase by 0.1%.

Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index:
Philadelphia Fed April Business Index 20.2 versus March 18.9; Philadelphia Fed April Business Index Expected 19.5; Philadelphia Fed April Price Paid 42.7 versus March 38.6; Philadelphia Fed April Price Received 1.0 versus March decrease by 0.4; Philadelphia Fed April Employment 7.3 versus March 8.4; Philadelphia Fed April New Orders 13.9 versus March 9.3; Philadelphia Fed April Shipments 5.6 versus March 13.6; Philadelphia Fed April Delivery Times 5.4 versus March 7.9; Philadelphia Fed April Inventories 2.0 versus March decrease by 11.0.

NAHB Housing Market Index:
U.S. NAHB April Housing Index 19 versus 15 in March; NAHB Reading of 19 is Highest Since September 2009.
