Unemployment Rate Falls to Two Year Low

Economic data released today:

Nonfarm Payrolls:
U.S. February Payrolls Revised to rose 194K from +192K; U.S. March Government Payrolls fell 14K; Federal rose 1K; U.S. March Manufacturing Payrolls rose 17K; Service-Producing rose 185K; U.S. March Private Payrolls rose 230K; U.S. March Nonfarm Payrolls rose 216K; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 195K.

Unemployment Rate:
U.S. February Unemployment Left Unrevised at 8.9%; U.S. March Unemployment Rate 8.8%; Compared to Consensus of 8.9%.

Average Hourly Earnings:
U.S. March Average Hourly Earnings Unchanged at $22.87.

Average Weekly Hours:
U.S. March Overall Workweek Unchanged at 34.3 Hours.

ISM Manufacturing Index:
U.S. ISM March Inventories Index 47.4 versus February 48.8; U.S. ISM March Production Index 69.0 versus February 66.3; U.S. ISM March New Orders Index 63.3 versus February 68.0; U.S. ISM March Employment Index 63.0 versus February 64.5; U.S. ISM March Prices Index 85.0 versus February 82.0; U.S. ISM March Manufacturing PMI Expected 61.0.

Construction Spending:
January Construction Spending Revised to -1.8% from -0.7%; Construction Spending Drop is 3rd in Row; Lowest in 11 Yrs; US Construction Spending fell 1.4% in February; Compared to Consensus of an increase by 0.2%; U.S. ISM March Manufacturing PMI 61.2 versus February 61.4.
